Football = Food
When I was a little kid there were a couple of times when I got to hang out with or stay at the house of my Uncle Todd and Aunt Kathy.
Uncle Todd was a player in the NFL and sports were a big part of their family life. Going to their house meant two things to me: good food and sports. I loved it! And during the summertime, going to their house meant swimming. Yes, I can count; I just don’t like to.
I can still remember the first time I ever tried a mozzarella stick. It was one of those moments that just sticks in your brain and then brings back the taste of happiness every time you remember it.
Mozzarella Sticks
The cheese was super hot and I had to swallow my first bite quickly before it could think to scald my taste buds. That second bite though? Oh it was glorious! GLORIOUS I tell you!
The crispy crust from the breading combined with the hot, savory, ooey-gooey buttery mozzarella center….
Ever since that bite, football has meant Mozzarella Sticks to me!

I’m gonna be honest with y’all: I do not make my own Mozzarella Sticks! I use Farm Rich Mozzarella sticks and other snacks, and I’m not sorry for it!

Mozzarella Sticks and Buttermilk Ranch
Dear reader, do you remember how I said the mozzarella sticks on that first taste were extremely hot? Well, that’s truth.
I tried that first mozzarella stick, swallowing as quickly as possible. It tasted so good I then had to have more and FYI- patience is not a virtue I possess. So I hurriedly went to take another bite.
However, Uncle Todd chuckling suggested that I try it dipped in Buttermilk Ranch dressing.
This suggestion was probably more in part because he was scared I’d burn my mouth if I kept eating them so darn fast, than anything else. However I like to pretend it was because he loved seeing my chubby little self try new things and delight in them.
Y’all I’d just like to suggest that Mozzarella Sticks and Buttermilk Ranch go hand in hand. Thy should get married and live happily ever afer…
The Buttermilk Ranch
There’s not a one store-bought ranch out there that tastes near as good as home made ranch. Once you make this, You’ll never go back. So, you know: be warned!
I highly suggest you make this with fresh herbs, you will not regret it!
Add more or less sour cream to make your dressing more or less thick according to preference or what youre using it as (ie: vegetable dip vs. salad dressing).
Enough talk, let’s eat!
