PB&J’s taken to a whole new level of awesomeness!
Three levels of crusted bread separated by a layer of peanut butter and jelly on the bottom and a layer of peanut butter and fresh strawberries on the top. With a special trick to keep the bread from going soggy while in a lunch box.
Kids are headed back to school: “Power their day the right way!”
PB & J back to school:
Let me tell you a story of my never-ending search for the best of everything. Haha! It’s a real problem. However, my story is great! It’s called
“If you give a Juli a Sandwich”
If you give a Juli a sandwich then she’s going to ask for Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter (that can always be found at your local Walmart) to go in it.
When you give her Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter she’ll probably need some Smucker’s® Strawberry Jam (also found at Walmart) to go on top.
Then she’ll have a great idea to add fresh fruit, but she’ll not want the jam and the fruit to touch because it might get slippy slidey;
so she’ll want a third piece of bread to make it a double-decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Then she’ll notice the crusts and think that those need to go.
She’ll probably ask you to cut them off.
When you’re looking for a knife, she’ll notice your picture of you and your friends laughing.
She’ll want to know what was so funny and when you tell her you said a funny joke;
Then she will ask you to tell it to her as well. Then she’ll have the great idea that you should write it down so she can read it while she eats.
She’ll laugh so hard over that joke that she’ll ask you to write her another funny joke note,
and chances are; if you give her another funny joke-note, she’ll want a double-decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich with strawberries to go with it.
Crust cut off bread
When I was a kid I used to sit by Liesel J and Jordan C at lunch each day. Every day I had a turkey sandwich; where Liesel and Jordan both had Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches. I was totally jealous y’all, because you know, the grass is always greener on the other side. Haha!
Finally I convinced my mom to pack me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my lunches. I was so proud of that sandwich, made with creamy peanut butter and my mom’s homemade grape jelly.
However, then I noticed that Liesel had Strawberry Jam on her sandwich…
Eventually my mom was convinced to make mine with strawberry jam as well. Haha! I was a lucky girl.
However, then I noticed that Jordan’s sandwich had the crust cut off.
That was where my mom drew the line; I would not be getting those crusts cut off.
Now that I’m an adult: I get to cut the crusts off!!! Woot Woot!
Lunchbox Jokes:
Remember my great story from the beginning of this post? (As if you could forget such a written bit of awesomeness!). Well, that’s actually what I do for my kids, and with school back in it is once again time to power their day the right way!
Alongside these delicious with fresh strawberries, I always send a little handwritten “I love you Buddy!” note with a joke on the back. My kids love the jokes because then they get to start their lunch by telling a funny joke to their friends. These jokes are some that I found on the internet and my kids have loved!
Kid approved jokes:
Q: What do you call a fake noodle?
A: An Impasta
Q: What do you call an alligator in a vest?
A: An Investigator
Q: Did you hear about the race between the lettuce and the tomato?
A: The lettuce was a “Head” and the tomato was trying to “ketchup!”
Q: Why can’t you give Elsa a balloon?
A: Because she will “Let it go.”
Q: Why are frogs so happy?
A: They eat whatever BUGS them.
Q: What do you get when you mix a snowman with a vampire?
A: Frostbite!
Q: Why are pirates called pirates?
A: Because they arrrrrrrr.
Q: What is a whale’s favorite candy?
A: Blubber-Gum
Overdose of Awesomeness!
Well I’ve given you a great story, amazing pictures to feast your eyes on, and some awesome jokes! Now I’ll give you the recipe and your day can be complete! You’re welcome; Wink wink!
Enough talk, let’s eat!
