7 simple habits to help you be your best you
Inside I was drowning. Each day getting out of bed, pulling clothes from the closet, and even turning the keys in the engine: felt near-impossible.
My personal goal was to find a way up from my internal dark hole. Temporary help came in the forms of therapy, and even an anti-depressant. Equally important as those temporary helps, was implementing habits into my daily routine that would help me be my best self and that were sustainable. Physically my body transformed quickly, the mental transformation has been slower but equally impressive and life changing.
Printable Wholeness To-Do List
These are the habits that I found to help most. Science says it takes an average of 21 days for something to become a habit. I have found that having an accountability system is something that works best for me. So, on top of my daily to-do checklist: there is a point system so you can do this in spurts of 12 weeks (competition style with friends and family is what I suggest!).

Why Sleep is Important
So the first item on our checklist each day is sleep. Two quick notes for your tracker:
- Napping counts and is added to the previous night’s sleep.
- For new/nursing mothers—night waking time is not deleted from your “hoped for” stretch of
sleep.
Sleep is needed y’all!!!
Mentally: Research has shown that after adequate sleep, people retain information and perform better on memory tasks.
Physically: Our bodies rem sleep in order to restore and rejuvenate, to grow muscle, repair tissue, and synthesize hormones.
To be your best self, mentally and physically, you need sleep.
Brains and Bodies Need Exercise
Common knowledge is that all bodies need exercise. For reducing risk of many diseases and to improve help.
However, are you aware that exercise is one of the most effective ways to help your mental health? Yep!
So two things for counting the exercise point on your to-do list:
- Whatever is “pushing it” for you. DON’T CHEAT YOURSELF.
- Be creative—could be a brisk walk with the kids, exercises in front of your favorite show, etc.
Your brain and body need Water
I love that saying “8 cups a day keeps the doctor away”. That’s not a fact y’all! However, water is needed for your body to function correctly.
A great trick for this point on your to-do list:
- Measure in your favorite cup and keep it by the sink, take water bottle with you, etc.
- Flavored waters and Fitness drinks can count as 1/4 of your checkmarks under this category each day.
Fitness Drink from CELSIUS
Speaking of fitness drinks: let me tell you about CELSIUS!
- CELSIUS is a healthy energy drink with 7 essential vitamins, no artificial preservatives or flavors, no high
fructose corn syrup and is very low in sodium. - CELSIUS is clinically proven to burn calories and accelerate metabolism
How many Fruit and Veggies do I need each day?
Fruits and vegetables are a great source of needed vitamins and minerals. Tips for your nutrition point each day:
- Must be both fruits and veggies each day, what daily combination is up to you.
- Cut up and store in small bags—easy for snacks
- Plan to get a variety before grocery shopping
Benefits of Meditation:
There is so much scientific research surrounding the benefits of meditation. Personally, I’ve found it helps significantly with my:
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Self awareness
When I meditate, I like to start by reading from my favorite religious material in a quiet place. Then I pull up a you-tube meditation video or a meditation podcast, and then listen on my Trekz Air from Aftershokz as I follow the prompts.
Trekz Air from Aftershokz

Limit 1 Sweet or Soda:
I don’t believe in cutting something I love completely from my life because that’s not going to be sustainable. That’s a diet. I believe in moderation in all things.
Quick note for this section of your points:
- ONE= a reasonable size serving! You know what that means…
Take your Vitamins:
I use the word “vitamins” loosely. Really I just mean give your body whatever boost it is currently needing.
Shown here, I have Berry & Enzyme Power from The Synergy Company.
Berry Power Antioxidant Powder: Mix 1 tsp with 4-6 oz water or juice in a lidded jar and shake briskly, or add to your favorite smoothie.

Daily Personal Goal
This one is important. I firmly believe in me-time. For the daily personal goal:
- This is NOT a to-do item (ie:laundry), but something that is helping you to create/maintain/become your best self, and relax.
Examples: Take a bath and wear a face mask, read a book, do good deed daily, organize one drawer daily, improve a talent. - ***Make it specific; make it measurable***
This doesn’t have to take a long time! But it is important for you being your best self.
Let me tell you about Patchology, the eye gel under eye patch shown above:

In closing
