I mustache you a question
Believe it or not, I don’t have a single funny story that involves artichokes. Lame, I know…
As I sit here trying to think of what to write about in this post (besides artichoke dip of course), I am holding my hair over my lip as if it is a mustache. Which just made my two year old yell “mustache”, which reminds me of a story that isn’t even mine, but is absolutely hilarious. So let me share.
Rambo and Elsa
For the purpose of this story and the anonymity of the characters within, I will name the main character Rambo instead of Jacob. I am calling him that for two reasons:
- The little boy this story is about is super cool, and as I talked about in my Homemade Pizza Dough post, Rambo is a cool person name for sure!
- He’s a bit crazy! Well, crazy is the wrong word for it: fearless I suppose is a better word. This boy is fearless and a bit of a child kamikaze, so if I had to give him a nickname it would be Rambo. Haha!
For those same reasons, I will call “Rambo”s mother Elsa, because she is super talented and quiet, but I think she’s got a spine of steel behind all that. And because I love her guts! Or I could call Angela Ariel rather than Elsa, because she is small but fierce!
Once upon a Mustache…
So Rambo tends to get stuck in these phases. From what I’ve heard, he had a phase for awhile there where he would climb anything he could; including windows.
Then there was the phase where he would stick anything he could into light sockets. Scary!
My favorite phase though, was his mustache phase:
For a little while there “mustache” was Rambo’s favorite word! In fact, it was his only word for a couple days because he loves it so much.
When told to do something, Rambo would respond with “Mustache”. When asked a question, Rambo would respond with (you guessed it!) “mustache”.
One day Elsa and Rambo were at the grocery store (buying artichokes for artichoke dip probably… haha! Trying to tie this in somehow! Not gonna work). The woman at the checkout stand may have had a heavy upper lip. As the checkout woman scanned the groceries she said something to Rambo, who in turn, pointed at her face and yelled
“Mustache!”
If I were Elsa (I’d have the voice of an angel and super cool freeze powers! However I am talking about the Mom in this case…), I would have probably laughed so hard I snorted (not hard. I often snort while laughing. It’s embarrassing. Though not as embarrassing as your 3 year old pointing at a woman and yelling “Mustache!”).
Knowing Elsa though, she probably turned bright red and then said something along the lines of
“You’re right Rambo, that man over there does have a mustache! Oh he just left the store…”
She’s mart like that! Witty on the spot…
I really mustache ask you a question:
So how would you respond in that situation?
Okay, enough talk! Let’s eat super delicious and perfectly perfect artichoke dip!!!
