A big southern porch

Do you ever dream up a future house? A dream house…

I’ve dreamed up many future houses in many different styles; my tastes change regularly.

However, there is one thing that has always been constant in my dreaming: a big southern front porch with a nice comfy porch swing where I can spend my summer morning’s and evening’s relaxing.

Picture this: The sun is just rising, the grass smells of dew and sunshine, and you are relaxing on your front (big southern) porch soaking in the glorious stillness of an early summer morning as you drink a delightful sweet southern peach frappe! Can you imagine anything more delightful?!  This is my idea of Heaven…

Fruit Trees

Another thing you will always find at my house of dreams: Orchards. I dream of spending summer’s picking and eating from:

  • Cherry trees for cherry pies.
  • Apple Trees and homemade apple crisp.
  • Pear tarts from the harvesting of the pear trees.
  • Oh, and peach trees. Peach trees for peach cobbler and peach frappe’s. Peach trees for peach crisp and fresh slices of peaches with a pinch of sugar and a dollop of fresh whipped cream.

Oh yes! That house will have trees that will be fun to play hide and seek in. Then there will be a little pig named horse that will roam the trees and eat the fallen fruit as it ferments.

Sound familiar?

Yes, my little pig named “Horse” that I talked about in my Pineapple Pulled Pork post used to wander through our fruit trees and ruin our best hiding spot in games of hide-n-seek. Haha!

A kitchen with a big enough cupboard for my blender

My third “must-have” on my list of dream house “constants” is a kitchen with a big enough cupboard to keep my blender set up and ready-to-go. Sounds funny, doesn’t it?

My current kitchen is small, sweet, and cute; and I love it. However, it has tiny cupboards that don’t fit any of my counter-top appliances.

I love starting my day with a frappe. Some people do green smoothies or oatmeal. Me? I be all

Yes please! Let’s start this day off sweet because then it can’t be anything but fantabulous!

#Truth!

Y’all- start your day off with a homemade frappe all summer long, and I guarantee you will have a super fantastic and fabulous (aka “fantabulous”) summer!

A Big Fridge/ An Extra Fridge

Dear Reader,

I’m of the opinion that I need a special fridge just to hold all my drinks. I love to sip on cold fancy drinks all summer long.

I’m thinking a shelf of—

  1. International Delight Creamers: that I can then add to soda’s to make them dirty, to cocoa bean drinks to flavor and sweeten them, and most important of all: to my morning frappe’s! (You should probably have one of these shelves as well so you can always add International Delight Creamer’s to your daily cup of coffee!)
  2. Fresh fruits: also for adding to all those same things listed above. And, a shelf of
  3. Drink bases: milk, soda, club soda, and water.

How perfectly perfect does that sound?!

I know, I know: I dream big. Haha! However, I’m truly working hard for the dreams, so I might just one day have that other fridge and that porch swing!!!

Peach frappe by Flirting with Flavor

Dreams come true…

So now that I have you dreaming of summer days spent with porch swings, fruit trees and frappes; I think I’d better tell you about my delicious sweet southern peach frappe recipe.

I like to make this peach frappe with International Delight Cold Stone Creamery Sweet Cream flavor coffee creamer. You can find it in the refrigerated section at your local Walmart.

Then I pour the creamer into ice cube trays and freeze it. Then I put those cubes in a freezer bag where they are ready to go anytime I wake craving a summer peach frappe.

Making one of these sweet cream and southern peach frappe’s is easy and fast; and oh my goodness do they taste delicious!

Another coffee creamer flavor I love to use when making a morning frappe is the International Delight® Hershey’s® Chocolate Caramel!

If you’re not craving fresh fruit that morning, then I highly encourage you to go the chocolate route instead.

Then make sure to top your delightful frappe with delicious Reddi-wip Extra Creamy (also found in that same aisle at Walmart and totally cool with me to use because it has no artificial flavors or sweeteners and it’s made from cows that weren’t treated with artificial growth hormones)… and Voila!

#Perfection!

Best way to party this and every summer

So now you know how to make these delicious Frappe’s for all your summer mornings, evenings, and occasions. Do you know what I think you need to do with such knowledge? You probably need to throw a party!  Cool down with a Frappe’ party in this summer heat.

Haha! But for reals… Picture this:

Poolside with your besties as you all laugh about the latest gossip. Eating yummy summer watermelon or other delicious fruits. Everyone is thoroughly enjoying themselves when you bring out the piece de resistance: the Sweet Cream Summer Peach Frappe’s. Shouts ring out,

“Oh ___(insert your name here)____! We like how you party!”

(And for a durn good reason.)

At which point, I highly suggest a subtle dusting off of your shoulder. Yes, you are that awesome.

Enough talk, Let’s drink!

I've never had a frappe...don't really know what they are other than what I see here. My question is: I am diabetic and I don't know if these creamers have sugar in them. Do you think I could have them? I know the fruit has natural sugar but what about other sugars? I could leave off the redi-whip topping but I don't know the sugar content of any of the creamers. Thanks in advance for any help you could give me on this.

It's like a milkshake, but lighter! I am not actually sure if this is diabetic friendly, the creamers do contain additional sugars, so you'd definitely have to adjust your insulin regimen accordingly... Thank you for visiting my site and feel free to ask about any other recipes too!!!

Marilyn I am also a diabetic, Coffee Mate has a sugar free Sweet Italian Cream and Redi-whip has a sugar free whipped cream. I am enjoying a peach frappe right now. Enjoy!

Please check with your doctor or nutritionist. There are roughly 35 calories per tablespoon in this creamer and 6 gms of sugar per tablespoon. That's about 1400 calories in 2.5 cups! This does not seem to be diabetic friendly. You could do the same thing using milk. Read the nutrition on the carton.

I think it's 2 3/4 peaches in the frappe. The other 1/4 peach is used as peach slices for a garnish.

Little confused about the peaches. Is it 2 3/4 cups of peaches or 2 3/4 whole peaches. Why not 3 peaches

Pat you can use all 3 peaches! I jut always save a couple slices for garnish. But garnish isn't really needed form something so delightful!

I am thinking the calorie count is a little off. What size is each serving? It says 19 calories per serving or am I reading this wrong?

Susan I am not actually sure on the calorie count! EEEKS! I didn't even know it gave a calorie count. That being said, this is a fairly low calorie drink. But yes, I think 19 calories is too low unless you're only drinking a small amount.
